The key aims of the tender are to:

Good communication at local and operations manager level with the College - two-way communication
Daily interaction with the College representative at each site
Develop an effective method of handing over any special needs and comments on a daily basis
A Contractor that adopts a flexible and proactive approach to all College activities.
Cleaners to work the hours that best suit the needs of the College and maximise the work completed
A Contractor that operates using the optimum level of staffing.
Training and development of the teams at the College
This does not imply that this is not happening now - these are the aims of the contract.
The College work to provide the students with the very best experiences they can. The quality of the environment in which they all work together is very important to us. The cleanliness and good order of the classrooms, corridors, social and dining spaces and other areas of the College impacts upon the teaching and learning that goes within the College. The College expectations are high, and they are looking for a cleaning contractor who has the same aims and aspirations as we do. They do seek value for money but that does not mean they will choose the cheapest quote possible. They are seeking a partner who will be willing to undertake extra work and be flexible in approach when dealing with certain key events in our year.
Suppliers of cleaning services to all College buildings should ensure the following criteria are met:
• All site based and visiting staff are Enhanced DBS checked
• All staff wear College ID badges and company branded workwear
• Quality assurance schedule to be carried out by the supplier daily
• Any signs of vandalism or graffiti to be reported to College designated personnel daily
• Cleaning fluids should be compliant with relevant public services specifications
• All cleaning equipment and chemicals should be stored in the designated cupboards and locked at all times
• Supplier to provide own equipment & cleaning products
• Report any maintenance issues identified during cleaning to the premises team so they can be rectified as soon as possible.
• Supervisors should be non-working to ensure the team are monitored and lone working is reduced to an absolute minimum.
• Deep cleans will be by agreement in all College holidays, excepting for Christmas closure (2 weeks)

- Secure storage of equipment and chemicals — All cleaning equipment and chemicals must be stored in designated cupboards and locked at all times.
- Provide own equipment and cleaning products — Supplier is responsible for providing their own cleaning equipment and products.
- Report maintenance issues promptly — Any maintenance issues identified during cleaning must be reported to the premises team for prompt rectification.
- Supervisors to be non-working — Supervisors should not perform cleaning tasks to ensure proper monitoring and minimize lone working.
