The potential score, explained

On some fit reports, under the fit score, you will see a second number flagged "Within reach": your potential score. This is what the same tender could score once the gaps in your company profile are filled in. This page explains what that number tells you and, just as important, when it will not appear.

The problem it solves

Fit scoring is deliberately sceptical: it credits only what your profile states, so a blank field costs you fit you would otherwise have, even when the true answer would score well. A business that has never said where it operates, what size it is, or which public contracts it has delivered will sit below its real score on every tender. The potential score separates a fixable profile gap from a genuine mismatch, so missing information does not read as a poor fit.

What it shows

Under the potential score, each gap is shown as a step: a specific profile field you have left blank, such as where you operate, your size band, or your public-sector track record, with an indication of how much filling it in could add. The most valuable fixes come first, so you always know the best next step.

When it will not appear

Two honesty rules shape this feature:

What to do with it

The panel links to your profile, and each step is a field you can fill in there. When you save, Tenderoo re-scores your matches against the updated profile. Treat the potential score as an honest estimate of headroom rather than a promise: your updated scores reflect your actual details once they are stated. You can action every step yourself on the free plan, and the uplift works the same whichever plan you are on; the Track plan adds guided help with each step.

Tenderoo finds the tenders you fit and scores each one, so you only spend time on the work you can win. Look your company up, free.
