What the buyer wants
Natural England seeks a high-level list of conservation measures to benefit Solent estuary features affected by nutrient enrichment, supporting future mitigation and restoration efforts, and exploring alignment with strategies addressing recreational disturbance and habitat function for SPA bird populations.
To produce a high level list of in perpetuity Conservation Measures that would benefit features of the Solent, including Special Areas of Conservation (SACs), Special Protection Areas (SPAs) and Ramsar sites affected by nutrient enrichment. The output will support Natural England, local authorities, and catchment partners in shaping future nutrient mitigation, restoration and investment programmes.
In addition to nutrient enrichment, Natural England wishes to explore opportunities to align the delivery of conservation measures with existing strategic approaches that address recreational disturbance and maintain or enhance the ecological function of habitats supporting designated SPA bird populations.
