Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and the Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug
Partnership (ADP) require the delivery of a Family Support Service (FSS) for adults and young
people aged 16 years and over, who reside in Inverclyde and are affected by the alcohol
and/or drug use of a family member, partner, friend or loved one.
The Family Support service will recognise that substance use can have a significant and
lasting impact on family members in their own right and that families require support regardless
of whether their loved one is currently engaged in treatment, recovery or active substance
use.
The Family Support service will place families at the centre of all activity and will operate within
a framework of:
Trauma-Informed Practice
Family Inclusive Practice
Whole Family Approaches
Human Rights Based Practice
Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care
The Family Support service will provide; early intervention, prevention, emotional support,
education, advocacy, peer support, bereavement support, pathways for moving on to other
community-based supports when appropriate, and family recovery interventions to improve
outcomes for individuals, families and communities across Inverclyde.

- Service delivery experience in family support — Supplier must demonstrate experience in delivering family support services for individuals affected by substance use.
- Adherence to trauma-informed and family inclusive practices — Supplier must operate within frameworks including Trauma-Informed Practice, Family Inclusive Practice, Whole Family Approaches, Human Rights Based Practice, and Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care.

- Lot 1 (up to £500,000) — The Family Support Service will provide flexible, accessible and person-centred support to individuals aged 16 years and over who are affected by another person's alcohol and/or drug use. The service aims to: Improve wellbeing, resilience and quality of life. Reduce isolation and stigma. Strengthen coping skills. Promote hope and recovery. Improve family relationships where appropriate. Support families to have a voice in service development and strategic planning. Ensure families are connected to wider community supports. Deliver compassionate local responses to crisis, overdose and bereavement. Additional information: The contract will initially be for a period of 12 months with an option to extend it to 4 x 12 months on mutually agreed terms and conditions.
