What the buyer wants

Wareham Town Council seeks a contractor to demolish an existing public toilet block and design and construct a new facility on the same site, including asbestos removal and service connections. Bidders must also price an optional contactless entry system.

Wareham Town Council invites tenders from suitably experienced contractors to demolish the existing public toilet block at Howard's Lane, Wareham, Dorset BH20 4HU, and to design and build a new public toilet facility on the same site.

The works include: safe demolition and clearance of the existing building, including the removal of any asbestos identified by the Council's asbestos survey (which will be provided to all tenderers); construction of the new facility; connection of all services; and making good the site.

Planning has been confirmed as permitted development.

Bidders must also price a pay-to-use (contactless) entry system as a separately identified optional item; the Council will decide at award whether to include it.

This procurement follows an earlier tender exercise for these works which did not result in a contract award.

The contract will be awarded to the most advantageous tender, assessed against the price and quality criteria set out in the tender documents. Tender documents are attached to this notice and are also available from the Town Clerk.
